Dave Dixon
Dave is the lead presenter and editor of the podcast. He's a Mariner of 45 years, introduced to Town by his Dad in 1978, the club's centenary year! In his first full year as a regular at Blundell Park, the now legendary 1979/80 team served up a Division Three League Championship Title, ironically the last one one by a Grimsby Town team.
The high's and lows of following GTFC since are not lost on him and he's hoping that Town can build on the more recent glories of playoff campaigns and FA Cup Quarter Finals to climb the leagues again!
He has limited commentary and internet experience having been involved in Town's first foray into internet coverage in the late '90's and early '00's having the pleasure of interviewing Lord High Admiral Sir Alan Buckley, and opposition managers such as John Aldridge, Sam Allardyce, and commentating for the early website coverage at grounds like Manchester City, Sheffield United and Birmingham City.
He even helped out as an 'away' reporter for Bolton Wanderers and Carlisle United (for CFM), in the absence of them sending a reporter. Town won 6-0!
3 FISH is a passion project that started as a throw away idea in 2023, that is now a season old already!
Steve Risley
Steve is also a '70s debutant spoiled by early success of the team when he was a 10 year old! Another fan introduced by his Dad, who incidentally still attends games as an Ancient Mariner well into his 80's!
He recalls some real highs as a Town fan, teasing Coventry fans after a 1-0 win away, that Town were top of the Championship (due to Town playing their game earliest in the weekend) and the famous 2-1 League Cup win at holders Liverpool, coincidentally Phil Jevons scoring spectacular winners in both matches.
He's taken to the podcast like the proverbial 'duck to water' and is really excited to get stuck into 3 FISH Season Two!
Like Dave he's been a little star struck being involved in the Season One special guest episodes featuring Thomas Turgoose, and one of our boyhood heroes and Mariner's legend Dave Moore, as well as TNT Sports' commentator Adam Summerton, none of which we envisaged at the start of this podcast journey!
Steve is a lover of an away day and no doubt we'll sneak a couple of 3 FISH on the ROAD episodes in to keep things interesting.
ROSS COOK
Ross is a Content Creator & GTFC Lifelong Fan. TikTok: @ROSSIGTFC
Ross, known to many as @ROSSIGTFC, has been a proud Mariners supporter since the early 2000s. His first visit to Blundell Park came in 2004, witnessing a memorable 5–1 home win over Bury. If he thought it would be like that every week… well, reality had other plans. But like so many who catch the Town bug, he was hooked from day one.
Despite family ties to Lincoln City, Ross made the smart call early on—choosing Grimsby Town as his footballing home. He’s never known the club to be flush with riches (who has?), but he’s proud of how Town consistently punch above their weight, especially under the current ownership.
